This recipe takes very less time and taste very delicious. It can be made with hilsa,bhetki,bhangan fish as well as with eggs and paneer too. Process is almost same but i have used bhangan fish today.

  1. 4 pieces Bhangan fish
  2. 2 cups basmati rice
  3. 2 big size onion
  4. 1 cube piece ginger
  5. 6-7 garlic cloves
  6. 1 tomato
  7. 2 green chillies
  8. 2 bay leaves
  9. As needed Whole garam masala (cinnamon,clove,cardamom)
  10. pinch Sugar
  11. to taste Salt
  12. 1 tbsp haldi powder
  13. 2 tbsp dhaniya powder
  14. 1 tbsp jeera powder
  15. 1 tbsp kashmiri mirchi powder
  16. as needed Refined oil and ghee
  17. as needed Water
  18. as needed Kewra water (optional)

Instructions to make Fish Pulao

  1. Wash rice let it dry on a tray
  2. Marinate fish with little salt and haldi powder and keep aside.
  3. Make a paste of onion,ginger,garlic,chills and tomato.
  4. Heat kadai and add oil.
  5. Fry fish till golden brown don't make it too crispy & take it out,keep aside.
  6. In same oil add whole garam masala & bay leaves saute for few seconds and add vegetables paste fry till colour changes.
  7. Add dhaniya,jeera & kashmiri mirchi powder.Then add 1 tsp salt & 1tsp sugar and cook till oil gets separated.After that add 1cup of water.
  8. When gravy starts to boil add fish and let it cook for 6mins. Then take out fish from the gravy.
  9. Then in the same gravy add rice & mix it well. Add 1tbsp salt and 3tbsp sugar then add 4cups of water and cover the lid.
  10. Check in between when water almost gets absorbed add 1 spoon ghee and 2drops of kewra water.
  11. Then arrange all the fish on top of rice and cover the lid.
  12. Switch off flame and give some standing time.
  13. After 10mins serve it.
