- 2 cup raw rice flour
- to taste Salt
- 250-350 gm Fleshy fish
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 green chilli
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp pepper powder
- Fish masala optional
- as needed Oil
- Water

- In a bowl add raw rice flour and salt, use hot water to make a dough like idiyyapam, u can add 1tsp oil and keep aside
- Another bowl take the fish add pepper,chilli, turmeric and salt mixed with the fish and keep at 1/2hr for marinated
- Heat oil in a pan, fry the fish in medium flame
- Just only cooked the fish 2 to 5mins, don't need to make deep fry, after remove the plate shredded the fish, use the fingers for shredding.
- Same pan again add the 1tsp oil add onion,green chilli, ginger garlic paste saute it well
- Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, fish masala and salt, mixed together
- Add shredded fish and mixed with the masalas.
- Switch of the flame and keep aside for cool completely
- Use the banana leaf apply the oil, take each ball of dough and keep the banana leaf
- Use the finger and press the dough gently to form round in shape.
- 1 tablespoon fish mixture keep at the centre of dough
- Fold the dough in other side and make Unnakaya shape or kebab shape
- Use the steamer for cooked until 20mins
- Now Unnakaya is ready to serve
