Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Koi Komola:

  1. For marination and fry
  2. 4 medium size Koi washed well
  3. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder to marinate the fish
  4. to taste Salt to marinate the fish
  5. as needed Oil to fry the fish
  6. For Komola curry
  7. 1 tsp green chilli paste
  8. 1 Tbsp onion chopped fine
  9. 1 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
  10. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  11. 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  13. as needed orange juice and few extra oranges for garnish
  14. to taste Salt
  15. 2 Tbsp oil

Steps to make Koi Komola

  1. Marinate the fish with turmeric powder and salt for 10 mins. In a wok heat 1 Tbsp oil and fry the fish until golden in colour. Set aside
  2. In the same wok add 1 Tbsp oil and add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 mins. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilli paste and sauté for 2-3 mins. Add the fried fish and stir for 1 mins
  3. Add turmeric powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt and sauté well for 2 mins. On low flame add orange juice and continue to cook on low flame for another 5 mins. Add garam masala powder and turn off from the flame. Cover for 10 mins to let the spices cook into the fish
  4. Garnish with oranges and serve with steamed rice
