Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Durga Saptami Platter:
- For Mackerel Fry
- 4 Mackerel Fish
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 Tbsp ginger- garlic paste
- 1 Tbsp Rice powder
- 1 lime juice
- as per taste Salt
- as required Oil to fry
- For Potol Bhaaja
- 1 Large Potol
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- as per taste Salt
- As needed Oil to fry
- For Pabda Jhaal
- 3-4 Mediuk size Pabda Fishes
- 1/4 cup black mustard paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp nigella seeds
- 2-3 green chilies
- as per taste Salt
- as required Mustard oil
- For Dharosh Bhaji
- 4-5 Dharosh
- 1 medium size potato
- 1/2 tsp nigella seeds
- 2-3 grew chillies
- as per taste Salt
- as per taste Oil
Instructions to make Durga Saptami Platter
- For Mackerel - wash the pieces well, smear salt and set aside for 10 mins. Wash again and smear 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, ginger garlic paste, lime juice.
- In a plate make a mix of rice powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and smear the fish pieces one by one.
- In a pan heat oil and fry the fish pieces on medium flame. Set aside when done
- Potol Bhaaja - wash the Potol, peel and divide into half, smear with red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
- In a pan heat oil and deep fry the Potol. Set aside once done
- For Pabda Jhaal - wash the fish pieces and smear with turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt, set aside for 10 mins.
- In a pan heat oil and fry the fish pieces on medium flame for 2 mins each side. Set aside
- In the same pan add nigella seeds, bay leaf, green chilies. Stir few seconds. In a bowl add mustard paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well. Add 1 cup water
- To the fish pieces strain this paste water and add to it, add salt and mix well. Cook covered
- Set aside once the consistency is thick.
- For Dharosh Bhaaja - cut the edges of the Dharosh after washing, halve them and set aside. Take potatoes, wash and peel and slice them lengthwise. Smear with little salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
- In a pan heat oil and add nigella seeds, green chillies and add sliced potatoes and Dharosh. Fry them well on medium flame. Add little salt and fry until cooked, set aside
- To assemble, plate with steamed rice and add Potol Bhaaja, Dharosh Bhaaja, Mackerel fry, Pabda Jhaal and enjoy
