Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Muri ghonto:
- 1 Fish head(katla/rohu)
- 1 cup Gobindobhog rice
- 2 Potato cut into small pieces
- 1 Chopped onion
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 Cinnamon stick pc
- 4 pc Green cardemom
- 4pc Cloves
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 pc Dry red chili
- as per taste Sugar
- as per taste Salt
- as required Ghee and mustard oil
- 1 tsp Green chili paste
Instructions to make Muri ghonto
- At fast in a karai add 1tbsp mustard oil and add gobindobhog rice,fry for 2 minutes. Then take a katla fish head and marinate with salt and turmeric powder. Add the marinated fish head into hot oil and fry until become crispy.


- Add potato cubes into the same oil and fry until become golden. Drain oil and keep it aside. Now add whole garam masala,dry red chili,bay leave and cumin seeds in the oil.

- Now add chopped onion and fry for few mints. Add ginger & garlic paste,green chili. Then add all dry masala,mixed well. Add fried potato and fried gobindobhog rice. Add 2 cups hot water into the karai. cover with a lid and cook for 4-5 minutes.


- Now add fried fish head and adjust salt &sugar. Again cover with a lid and cook for 10mints until the rice has become soft and tender. At last add 1tsp garam masala powder and 2tbsp ghee.
- Traditional muri ghonto is ready to serve.
