Although me, a pure vegetarian, never reluctant to learn and cook non-veg recipes for my friend and family . This came out as a delicious and tasty recipe which can go well with Rice , Roti , Poori and Paratha.
Ingredients and spices that need to be Get to make Mudhi Ghanto (Fish head and ChickPea Curry:
- 3 head marinated fish
- 1 cup Chana dal soaked in warm water for 1 hour
- 1 Potato chopped 1"
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 green chilli chopped
- 1 tbsp minced Garlic
- 1 tbsp grated Ginger
- 2 tbsp chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp fish curry power
- 1/2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 tsp crushed Kasoori methi
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1/3 Turmeric Power
- To taste Salt
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 1 bay leaf
Steps to make Mudhi Ghanto (Fish head and ChickPea Curry
- Boil the soaked,cleaned Chickpeas/Chana dal, chopped Potato, turmeric powder.

- Fry the marinated fish heads in oil (both the sides) in low medium flame. Mash them to small pieces.


- In a wok/Kadhai heat the oil. Add chopped onion, green chilli, bay leaf and cook till translucent.



- Now add ginger, garlic, tomato, salt and red chilli powder. Cook in low flame till the tomatoes softened,oil separate and aroma comes out.

- Add the mashed fish head and rest of the dried masala from ingredients (except garam masala) Cook in low flame for 3 minutes.

- Now mix the boiled Chana dal and potato nicely with the fish head masala and cook covered for 5 minutes in low flame.
Switch off the flame and add garam masala. Mix well.
